Benke Szilárd and Papp Péter took part in FIBA U18 3x3 world championship in Spain
It is a great honour for our team that 2 of our players took part on FIBA world championship organized for 18-year-old basketball players.
It is a great honour for our team that 2 of our players took part in FIBA world championship organized for 18-year-old basketball players. In 4 groups, 8-8 countries contested with each other. They played games to 21 points or for 10 minutes. Every team had 7 games and the first 3 teams of the group could qualify into the Final.
We can say that we got into the hardest team, as we played against the USA, Italy, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Brazil and Israel. The Hungarian boys played the first game against the USA, which was their closest game as they lost by 2 points. It is interesting because at the end of the Championship Serbia and the USA played the Final, where Serbia won and the USA became the second. (France the 3rd.) We could beat only Germany. Péter said that in that game they had been shooting outstandingly.

Team members: Benke Szilárd, Papp Péter (Kaposvár), Tóth Bence (Kecskemét), Rostás Imre (Sopron). Péter thinks that the opponents had physical dominance above them, they were much faster, stronger, taller.
They did not have much time to familiarize with Madrid but there was some time left to walk in the centre of the city and to taste tapas. By the way, they were satistied with the 4-star hotel and the buffet meals they received.
WE ARE VERY PROUD THAT 2 PLAYERS FROM OUR TEAM STOOD FOR HUNGARY IN A FIBA EVENT, BASED ON THE HUNGARIAN FEDERATION'S DEDICATION.
